Tropic of Pewter

The playful title for this commissioned still life was derived by the artist from the Latin word Tropicus, pertaining to turns, the turns of pewter, of the carvings on the old oak, of the wheel on the toile and of the tropical mangos, even the turns of the reflections on the old waxed surface —-
