Out of the Blue
Certainly a sea change from the shape-based works that preceded it, “Out of the Blue” seems to have grown in an organic way. Massed areas of pen marks form wide swathes that drift in the unseen currents, from side to side, and from foreground to background. Dark vertical elements form staccato interruptions to these sluggish masses, though at times they too are shrouded in drifting mists. This mysterious landscape-like abstract emerges from the dominant turquoise-blue atmosphere.
